eBay 1977 Set of 6 Dessert Glasses by Adolf Matura. Perlicka (Pearl) Pattern Chzeck Glass. Libochovice Glassworks In Good Condition. 5 are Exactly the same but 1 has a different stem (it has hob nails on it) It is the same size but with a lighter tint glass. Please see the last 3 photos to see the difference.. A few have light scratches on the inside do to normal wear, but in very good condition for their age! Size approximately 4″ Tall X 3.25″ Diameter. Designers that worked for Libochovice include Rudolf Jurnikl, Adolf Matura, and Vaclav Zajíc. In 1965, Libochovice became part of the Sklo Union group. These are a set of 6 Czechoslovakia glass dessert glasses designed by Czech glass artist Adolf MATURA in 1977. The cups were part of a collection called “Perlička” which means Pearl. More About the Artist Adolf Matura (March 30, 1921- January 14, 1979) Actively intervened in several glass disciplines, he is known as the creator of cut and engraved glass, pressed glass. At the beginning of his work, he focused on the design of table and additional glass shaped by blowing and grinding, and since 1960 also on pressed glass. During the 1960s, he also collaborated with the Moser glassworks, for which he created a number of cut glass designs. Since the mid-1960s, the focus of Adolf Matura’s artistic work shifted to pressed glass, to which he remained faithful until his death. He studied at VSUP by Prof Štípl. Adolf Matura had a great importance in the issue of Czechoslovak pressed glass. Matura was primarily a glass artist. At the beginning of his career he focused on engraved glass in Železny Brod. Later he focused on desktop and complementary glass designs. In the mid-sixties he began to focus on molded glass. His work is connected with rugged shapes, pearl decor and figural motives. In the beginning his designs are moderate and simple. Later he adds ornamental and structural form. He became famous thanks to iconic set Prague with pearl decor, based on the wave of decorativism in seventies. Matura liked figurative work. Among his designs you can find one of the best vases, vase with two faces, which is greatly appreciated by collectors of pressed glass.
