Please come back often, as we are always buying more goodies to list on ebay. This listing is for a beautiful vintage,1970s men’s Waltham watch in its original case. This watch is beautiful and shows very little wear in terms of scratch, scuffs to the crystal or case. Ther is one mild but visible scuff on the crystal. The gold plating on both the band and the case are in great condition, as is the band’s integrity as a stretch style band. The watch and band do need cleaning and feel a little gritty to the touch. This is not from wear. The interior fabric of the case has disintegrated into a powdery substance and coated everything inside the box with a grit. I’ll work on getting as much off as I can. The watch is working. It winds and runs without issue. I have not tested it’s accuracy or the calendar function. The box lists a number of attributes, such as water resistance, shock and dust resistance. Keep in mind that this is a 50 year old watch, and while this one appears to be well cared for, age has an effect on things. The watch case measures about 34mm in diameter, not including the crown. I’m placing the watch from the 1970s based on the style and colors used. This inside of the box was once a golden orange color and the watch dial is golden brown. I love the look of the red tipped second hand against the color of the dial. The box shows its age a bit more than does the watch. The satin lining in the top portion of the inside of the box needs gluing and as mentioned before, the fabric lining the bottom interior of the box is turned to powder. You are buying this watch with its case AS IS. As stated before, the watch is manual winding and seems to work, however, I don’t know when it was last serviced, so I recommend the new owner have this done, especially if the watch is intended for daily wear. While the watch appears to have been worn little, I know nothing of its history and therefore can make no guarantees about its continued functioning. Buying aged mechanics has a degree of risk. The watch may run 20 years or stop tomorrow. All I can guarantee is that the watch is working at the time of writing this listing. I’m happy to provide video evidence of this for interested buyers. The watch will be stored in a temperature controlled and dry environment until purchase. At which time I will carefully pack the watch to keep it safe from damage when it ships.
