FOR the complete story, FULL DETAILS and BIG CLEAR PICTURES, Please SEE THE DESCRIPTION 1927 WEIMAR GERMANY Uncirculated COMMEMORATIVE 5 Reichsmark MINTAGE 40,000 PIECE Description This is a beautiful, rare, very low mintage, brilliant uncirculated, silver, “Commemorative” Five Marks from “Weimar” Germany. One of just forty thousand original pieces, it was struck only in 1927 at Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg. These were made to celebrate the “450th Anniversary” of the “University of Tübingen” in Baden-Württemberg. The University was founded in 1477 by Count Eberhard V, later the first Duke of Württemberg. He was a reformer who established the school after becoming absorbed in the Renaissance revival of learning during his travels to Italy. Today, the “University of Tübingen” is one of eleven “German Excellence Universities”. It is known as a center for the study of plant biology, medicine, law, archeology, ancient cultures, philosophy, theology, religious studies, humanities, as well as more recently as a center of excellence for “Artificial Intelligence”. Weight: 25.00 Grams, 37 Millimeters, .500 Silver. Mintage: 40,000. As a comparison, the famous 1909-S V.D.B.
